What services do you offer for weddings?

I work with brides, bridesmaids, mothers of the bride or groom or any combination of the aforementioned.

  • Makeup & Hair
  • Makeup
  • Hair

Generally, I can carry out up to 6 individual sessions on the wedding day.  This could be 6 makeup, 6 hair or a combination of the two.

If it is a large party booking I may bring along an experienced assistant, there will be an additional fee of £95, which would be discussed with you at the time of enquiry then confirmed when booking.

Is there a minimum booking requirement?

Yes, I operate a minimum booking fee of £425 (excluding travel costs).  This is to enable me to dedicate myself to one wedding party per day.  Therefore it may be worth considering utilising my services for other members of your bridal party to enable the minimum amount to be met. I'm always happy to discuss this with you.

Occasionally when geography and timings permit, I can undertake other bride only packages on the same day.  However, for any of these solo client bookings that can be fitted in, you will be accommodated before or after my primary wedding booking for that day. I'm sure you'll understand and I'm here to help.

Can you stay with me throughout the day?

Yes of course.  I'm happy to provide you with further information on staying with you and for pre-evening reception services should you wish to change your look.

Do you travel?

Yes, absolutely! Travel costs would be covered by yourself. My business travel rate is 50 pence per mile beyond 10 miles from HU5 by car with additional charges for parking fees, toll charges etc.  For rail or airfare costs, these would be agreed with you prior to the travel being arranged.

What products do you use?

I use a wide variety of brands and as I am not endorsed by a specific brand, I happily have the freedom to use anything. Yves St Laurent, Mac, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay, Chanel, Illamasqua and several trade brands, are just some of the ranges I use.

How do I book you?

After discussing your requirements you would notify me of your wish to proceed.  At this point you will receive a contract by email for your signature which is to be returned by post or electronically, together with your booking fee of £95.  The booking fee can be paid by cash, cheque or by bank transfer (details available on request), a receipt is then issued and this fee is deducted from the final balance.

I am unable to hold any dates in my diary without your booking fee.

Once the booking is secured I will be in touch to arrange your trial.

What happens at the trial?

I recommend that we get together for your trial around 10 to 12 weeks prior to your wedding date. The trial would take place at my home studio in HU5.  Appointments are generally carried out during the week between 10am and 5pm. Weekend appointments are only available when I do not have a wedding booking and my diary permits.  You are encouraged to bring along pictures and ideas for your styling, together with any head dress or veil you would like to use for your hair styling trial.

The trial appointment can last between one and half (make up or hair only) and three hours (make up and hair).

You are welcome to bring along a friend or relative to this appointment, it is entirely up to you if you come along wearing your own make up or without.

When do I pay?

  • £95 when making the booking.
  • 50% of the full cost within 7 days of your trial.
  • The final balance (including travel costs) is due 1 month before your wedding day.

Failure to meet these terms could result in the cancellation of your booking.

What should I expect on the wedding day?

I will travel to you, whether that be in the comfort of your own surroundings or at your venue for your bridal preparations.  It would be most helpful to have a high backed chair for your comfort, a table for my equipment and an area where good natural light is available.

I normally suggest to my brides that you have at least one hour before you leave for the ceremony which will give you plenty of time to dress and have any pictures taken.  Of course we will discuss the timeline of the morning 2 weeks before the wedding day therefore, everyone will know what to expect and when.

I recommend that you buy a couple of products for touch ups on the wedding day, such as a lipstick or powder and I can of course, advise you on this at your trial.

What are your cancellation procedures?

The booking fee is non refundable under any circumstance and regardless of the date on which you cancel.

If cancellation is between the trial and 2 months before the event date, any monies already received will not be refunded.  If the request to cancel is less than 2 months prior to the event date, you will be charged the full and final balance as per the booking form.

What if happens you are ill?

In the unlikely event that I have any unforeseeable reason, or experience an unavoidable situation (injury, severe illness, urgent family emergency etc.) that render me unable to fulfill my obligations, I will arrange for an equally qualified Makeup Artist/Hair Stylist to complete the agreed upon services for the same agreed upon terms of payment.  If I am unable to find a replacement artist, a full refund (including the booking fee) is provided.

If there’s anything that I have not covered, please do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.
